The Macquarie University Sport and Aquatic Centre is located on the western side of the Macquarie University main campus along Gymnasium Road and is one of the most significant mixed-use sports centres in Sydney.[1] At a cost of $17 million to construct, the complex was opened in July 2007 and was built to adjoin the already built gymnasium facilities. Various environmentally sustainable aspects are present in the complex including rainwater harvesting and strategically located orientation and shading devices.[2] The aquatic centre has been variously used by the Australian National Swimming Team for training and preparation at world events.
